A BUS crash will be staged in Primrose Hill as part of filming for a new romantic comedy starring Ben Stiller.

According to a letter sent to residents by the movie’s location managers, the aftermath of the crash will be filmed first on July 7 and 8, with the scene itself taking place in Chalcot Road on July 9 and 10.

The bus crash is “central to the story” and will appear at both the start of the film and “its emotional climax”, the letter said, adding: “We have two buses available – and therefore can only film it twice.”

The production team will build a market stall outside the Princess of Wales pub to serve as the “point of impact”, and they urged residents not to be “alarmed” by the presence of emergency vehicles in the aftermath of the crash scenes.

The letter added: “Please rest assured this hit will take place after considerable and careful planning under the supervision of a very experienced Stunt team [James Bond, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Black Mirror].”

Filming will affect both Princess Road and Chalcot Road between June 30 and July 14, with shops given compensation to remain closed during certain periods.

Some parking bays will also be suspended, but the production team are offering free parking and a 24-hour shuttle service from nearby London Zoo, the letter explained.
