Planners approve move to open dog-grooming salon in Hampstead back garden

A DOG-GROOMING salon is set to open up for business in a back garden after the Town Hall approved plans for a cabin.

Neighbours had written to the council with their concerns that the Nutts 4 Mutts service, operating in a shed-like structure in Platt’s Lane, Hampstead, would lead to regular disturbance from barking.

Nancy Mayo, secretary of the Redington Frognal Association, said: “The business is entirely unsuited for a quiet conservation area, where gardens provide relief from the stress and strains of everyday life.”

But Elizabeth Shorts, who runs the business, said “dogs enjoy the grooming process and neighbours would not therefore be disturbed”.

Approving the plans, council officer Kristina Smith said the salon would be in a “noisy location” already due to traffic from the nearby Finchley Road.
