Divin’s century seals a 237-run Hampstead victory

THEIR title chances may be long gone, but Hampstead skipper Mark Divin is still determined to make sure his side end the season on a high.
The Australian smashed a score of 145 off 178 balls, including 18 fours and four sixes, to lead his side to a 237-run victory over visitors Brondesbury on Saturday at Lymington Road in west Hampstead.
Opener Steve Clark chipped in with 70 as Hampstead posted an unassailable score of 322-7 off 66 overs.
With Tom Smith and Mubasher Hassan taking four and three wickets respectively Brondesbury never got anywhere near their target, as they were bowled out for just 85 runs in 36 overs.
North Midd fall short in push for promotion

NORTH Middlesex’s hopes of promotion were ended on Saturday when they suffered a four-wicket defeat at home against rivals Richmond.
The hosts made a good start with openers Adam Holmes and Alex Hill putting in a stand of 120 runs for the first wicket. Holmes went on to score a well-crafted century, while Hill fell two short of his 50.
At one point North Midd were 181-2 with Evan Flowers adding 34 runs but, with Richmond’s Jack Porter making life difficult, taking 5 for 68, they reached 243-8 off 50 overs before declaring.
In the end it just wasn’t enough as Alex Griffiths hit an unbeaten 83 to lead Richmond to a winning 244-6 off 48.3 overs.
