• CAMDEN Council appeared to be seeking our views about the renaming of the Swains Lane roundabout – or was it?

Your report (Camden set to name Highgate road after Russian pro-democracy campaigner Boris Nemtsov, October 14) noted: “Camden has marked an area at the junction of Highgate Road, Highgate West Hill and Swains Lane to be ‘Boris Nemtsov Place’. It is close to the long-standing offices of the Russian trade delegation.”

They were seeking comments by November 9. But all is not what it seems, as a decision has already been made rendering any of our comments redundant.

A “Temporary Traffic Restriction” notice S16:41828 has already been published to close Highgate West Hill, Highgate Road and Swains Lane on November 14 to facilitate a road renaming event.

Is this yet another Camden Council nonsultation?
