Did he go with him to the tailor?
Thursday, 3rd October 2024
• I HOPE I’m not being overly prurient when I say that I find the idea that our prime minister has what we used to call a “sugar daddy” who buys his clothes for him quite interesting.
Does this Alli fellow go with him to the tailor?
Does he help him choose the material? The design of the suit? Oversee the measurements? (“You’ve put on weight, Sir Keir. Must be all those state dinners!”)
Does he attend the fitting? (“Does my bottom look big in this?” “Far from it Sir Keir, a true statesman’s bottom”).
I think, in the spirit of openness promised in the election, we should be told.
