Peter Taheri has been a councillor for four years
A LABOUR councillors who is departing the Town Hall at May’s council elections has a new job as a coroner.
Peter Taheri, who has represented West Hampstead for the past four years, is among a raft of local politicians who have decided not to seek re-election when Camden goes to the polls to decide who rules the council.
He is now heading to Suffolk for work after being named the county’s new assistant coroner – a politically-restricted role.
“I am honoured and delighted by this appointment and very much looking forward to taking up this responsibility,” he said in a short statement.
Part of his role will be conducting death inquests.
