Danger for pedestrians
Thursday, 15th July 2021
• CAMDEN Council is currently asking for residents’ comments on its numerous “Covid” road / cycling changes.
The council has to do this, because the original schemes were introduced without any public consultation – and now Camden wants to make the changes “permanent”.
I’m particularly concerned with the appallingly ugly Prince of Wales Road scheme which has cost over £1million and has created danger for pedestrians.
So far there have been nearly 250 responses, the majority drawing attention to the simple fact that Camden has tried to fit a quart into a pint pot, and found that doesn’t work.
It has all been done to create a dangerous cycle lane which few cyclists use. And yet, of course, the cycle lobbyists write in to say how wonderful it all is and how much better things will be when Haverstock Hill is given the same treatment.
