‘More police will be needed to patrol streets and parks to stop this flaunting of the laws of the land’
• IT’S all very well Transport for London and the government encouraging people to cycle more but riders should all abide by the Highway Code.
Observing during my daily walks it is obvious many cyclists do not.
Currently cyclists and scooter riders cycle on pavements, go through red lights, up one-way streets the wrong way, and ignore “no cycling” signs, especially through parks which clearly display these at entrances.
Once electric scooters get permission to ride on the road car drivers will have to be very very careful as these machines are low to the ground so hard to see. These riders must also know and abide by the Highway Code.
More police will be needed to patrol streets and parks to stop this flaunting of the laws of the land – otherwise many nasty accidents will happen.
