The Crow – Who cares about the Carling Cup? Check on Twitter

THIS do we want to or don't we want to win the Carling Cup malarkey must be exactly what it is like to be one of those switch-mouthed politicians you see on the TV these days.

They come up with an idea, tell everybody it is brilliant, then find out that nobody actually likes the idea they thought of (mainly because they are switch-mouthed politicians) and then spend an inordinate amount of effort trying publicly to change their stance in the most subtle way possible, hoping nobody will notice.

But it never is subtle.

We always notice and that's why everybody laughs at them and the public quickly grow to hate them. Then, in complete despair and most likely with hatred of their own souls, they, at this stage, will commonly begin tweeting Twitter about X-Factor.

As if that will make us like them.

This awfulness sums up Arsenal in the Carling Cup.

They are switch-mouthed politicians when it comes to this competition and it’s silly.

One minute the club can’t care less about it.

Then, they go all guns blazing in a race to the final.

And now it’s an indecisive mix of the two.

Sending out a team hampered by inexperience against Manchester City, who have a £38million striker up front, suggests Arsenal haven’t made up their mind.

I wish they would.

But the time to really panic will be when Wenger starts tweeting: I think Misha B was strong tonight.
