Criminal charges for police officer over video of ‘windscreen smash'

A POLICE officer accused of smashing a car window in an incident which became the subject of a viral video shared on the internet has been charged with four criminal offences.
PC Joshua Savage, who is based in Camden, has been charged with common assault, possession of a bladed article, criminal damage and threatening behaviour in relation to an incident involving a Ford Fiesta in Vicars Road, Gospel Oak, on September 16.
The charges were authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service following an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
PC Savage remains at work on “restricted duties” and will face a misconduct hearing at the end of all criminal proceedings, a Met spokesman said.
