ANOTHER commanding batting performance from Ben Scott helped Hampstead continue their unbeaten run in Division One of the Middlesex County Cricket League on Saturday.

Having been put into bat by Teddington, Scott came in at No. 3 and again stole the show as he powered his way to 79 not out off 124 balls, including three fours and two sixes.

With Mubasher Hassan chipping in with a well-crafted 57, Hampstead posted a heathy score of 240-5 off 60 overs before declaring.

Switching to the field, and it was Graham Clark’s time to shine as he took four wickets at the expense of 47 runs in a 20-over spell, which included six maidens.

Skipper Steve Clark also played his part as he collected 2-27 as Teddington were bowled out for 183 within 58 overs.

The 57-run victory leaves Hampstead two points behind Ealing after eight games – and 14 points ahead of third-placed Teddington.

IN Division Two, North Middlesex remain hot on the heels of leaders Brondesbury following a seven-wicket victory over Harrow St Mary’s.
Deciding to bowl first, North Midd put in a solid team display as they shared the wickets around.

Jaron Semper topped the charts with 3-41, closely followed by Tom Nicoll who took 3-50. Sam Webber also pitched in with 2-20 as Harrow were bowled out for 178 in the 51st over.

It didn’t take North Midd long to chase down their target, especially with Evan Flowers in electric form.

Flowers smashed his way to 114 not out in a super showing that saw him hit 18 fours and a six along the way.

Zulfi Azom also did well to score 47 off 58 balls as North Midd raced to a winning total of 182-3 off 34 overs.

The win leaves North Midd third, seven points behind leaders Brondesbury and six points behind second-placed Shepherds Bush.
