SKIPPER Mark Divin put in a masterclass with both the bat and the ball on Saturday as Hampstead recorded a comprehensive victory away at Southgate.
After deciding to bat first, Divin lead from the front as he added 103 with Mubasher Hassan in a crucial third-wicket partnership.
The captain piled on the runs as he scored 71 off 99 balls, including six fours, before being bowled and caught by Carmi Le Roux.
Hassan was equally as impressive with the bat as he scored 56 off 92 balls, hitting five fours and a six along the way.
With Steve Clark racing to 42 not out, Hampstead posted a competitive total of 242-6 off 63 overs before declaring.
Hampstead made an aggressive start in the field with Steve Clark (2 for 22) and opening partner Zac Khan (2 for 41) quickly into the wickets.
Southgate were unable to string any partnerships together, and with the introduction of Divin the match was brought to a speedy end as he took four wickets for 13 runs in a devastating nine-over spell.
Tom Smith also took two wickets as Southgate were bowled out for just 95 to hand Hampstead an impressive 147-run victory and all 10 points.
