A WELL-CRAFTED 51 not out from Leroy Shepherd helped guide South Hampstead to a narrow win over Edmonton in a showery day’s play on Saturday.
Karthik Jagannathan and Nish Patel also chipped in with 37 and 32 respectively, while James Williams hit 29 as hosts South Hampstead scored 222-8 off 50 overs before declaring.
Switching to the field, Kirk Drummond (3 for 23) and Majid Akram (3 for 38) both bowled beautifully to leave the result hanging tantalisingly in the balance.
Their efforts, along with Jagannathan with 2 for 42, proved decisive as Edmonton were bowled out for 192 to earn South Hampstead a narrow 30-run victory.
