SOUTH Hampstead are entitled to feel frustrated by their four-pointer draw away at Uxbridge on Saturday as they came within two wickets of earning what would have been a deserved victory.
Having been put into bat, South Hampstead looked composed with the bat with opener Alex Ranger almost scoring a run a ball as he hit 35 off 33 deliveries.
His efforts were backed up by Nish Patel and Karthik Jagannathan who scored 44 and 46 runs respectively, while Paul Atherley top-scored with 48 as the visitors posted a score of 229-9 off their 55 overs.
A tremendous team effort in the field almost turned the total into a winning score as Patel, Amit Chakrawarti and James Williams all picked up two wickets each.
But in the end Uxbridge managed to hold out for a point as they ended play on 183-8 off 45 overs, leaving South Hampstead with a winning-draw courtesy of their superior run rate.
