Crass misogyny seems to be the order of the week

• IT seems crass misogyny is the order of the week for our newspapers.
While par for the course for the Mail on Sunday, I expected better of the CNJ (‘Local resident’ strikes again, Peeps, April 21).
Your inference that I’m simply an empty vessel for the political views of my husband barely belong in the last century, let alone this one.
I wanted to endorse Labour’s candidates Lorna Greenwood, Richard Olszewski and Marcus Storm in Fortune Green because I believe they will be excellent councillors and representatives of my ward, not because my husband told me to.
As a genuine local resident (I’ve lived in the area for more than 20 years), I’ve been involved in activities ranging from saving a children’s centre to helping organise our annual street party, and am a long-standing school governor.
Sadly Peeps seems to think my marital status trumps all this, though I fail to see how the identity of my husband invalidates my own opinions and my decision to express them.
