• LIVING all my life in Camden and benefiting from its services I have never resented paying the top rate of council tax.

What is galling is that there are more and more houses in my neighbourhood that have dug out their basements, put in their swimming pools, cinemas, golf ranges, car lifts and they pay the same level of council tax.

Why does no government dare to address this inequality and enable councils to increase their revenue?
