CAMDEN Council leader Georgia Gould has shared news that she is expecting a baby.
Detailed maternity leave plans have already been put in place for three months from September with her deputy, Councillor Pat Callaghan, set to take charge alongside a deputy yet to be named. She will then make a “staged return” to the leader’s role in 2024.
“I am delighted to share some happy news that I am pregnant with our baby due in mid-September,” she said in a message yesterday (Friday).
“I know the council will be in safe hands with our deputy leader, cabinet and all our brilliant officers and councillors during my time off. I remain absolutely committed to delivering for the borough andI am excited to have a future Camden school pupil on the way.”
Cllr Gould and husband Alex Zatman married in September 2021 at the West London Synagogue before a reception at London Zoo. He had proposed to her in the ‘secret rose garden’ in Regent’s Park.
Cllr Gould became leader of the council in 2017.
