SWIMMERS have been told they will not be able to use the Hampstead Heath bathing ponds from this morning (Sunday) due to social distancing measures.

The Parliament Hill Lido has also closed.

The City of London, which manages the Heath,  said: “Due to the most recent advice from the government on Coronavirus (COVID-19) social distancing and self-isolation, the Lido and Bathing Ponds will be closed from 7am on Sunday 22 March until further notice.”

Pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants were ordered to close on Friday, while some shops have voluntarily shut their doors.
