Kentish Town underground

When will Kentish Town tube station reopen?

• IT was a relief to read London Conservative mayoral candidate Susan Hall calling on Sadiq Khan to name the date for reopening Kentish Town tube station.

The impact of this ongoing closure, which has already been delayed once, is having such a negative impact on our community.

Not only is it putting pressure on neighbouring tube stations and forcing people to walk lengthy distances but it is hurting local businesses.

Sadiq Khan, who is vying for another term after eight long, disappointing, years at the helm, isn’t listening and shows no sign of treating the reopening with any urgency.

We can’t count on our local representatives to hold him to account either; our MP was pictured grinning at his underwhelming re-election launch this week and we have received little update about the closure from the local Assembly Member and councillors.

There is a growing sense residents here in Kentish Town and Camden are being taken for granted and ignored.
