• DELIGHTED to read Amalia Michaels’s letter about the splendid work of the U3A in Belsize Park, (At our U3A we have 82 classes online, October 22).

I have been a member for five years and over that time have thoroughly enjoyed classes in such diverse subjects as art, history, belly-dancing, and pilates.

And weekly walks. Among many friends I’ve made through U3A have been people learning another language, improving their skills at bridge, or studying social anthropology.

The Monday morning talks are delivered by distinguished outside speakers and the quality of the volunteers who deliver the other 82 different classes each week is outstanding.

I congratulate Amalia and her colleagues for the efficiency with which they have adjusted to deliver the same variety and quality over Zoom.
