DEFENDING champions Cobden Athletic moved a giant step closer to retaining their crown at the weekend when they beat Tufnell Park Athletic in Division One of the Camden Sunday League.

Man-of-the-match Kaleb King scored two and grabbed two assists as Cobden outscored their title rivals to clinch a resounding 5-3 victory.

Top scorer Steven Bruce netted his 23rd goal of the season, while Luke Morgan and Harry Pederson were also on target for Cobden.

The result leaves the champions nine points clear of their challengers having won all nine of their league games so far, scoring 40 goals and letting in just 13 along the way.
