WITH the second half of the season in the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League and the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League under way, managers are facing a number of big questions.

Like who should be in their starting line-up? Should they go for all-out-attack or play on the counter? And should little Johnny be given a place on the bench after missing the start of the game because of detention?

Well, we’re adding in another doozy of a dilemma – will your team hit our headlines?

The only way that can happen is if you send us your detailed match reports, including full names of any players mentioned, and high resolution team pictures.

That’s what West End FC’s battling young sides did, and for good reason, too, as two of the club’s age groups showed their steel on Saturday to came from 2-0 down and earn a draw at Regent’s Park.

Goals from Luca van der Lubbe and Liam Deutsch gave Regent’s Park a 2-0 half-time lead in the Under-12s age group. But West End were sparked back into life when Burt Thorne pulled a goal back early in the second half.

Hotshot Luc Carrier Sanders then hit a brilliant equaliser as the blue and yellows earned themselves a 2-2 draw and a share of the spoils.

West End’s Under-11s, playing up an age group in the Under-12s 9-vs-9 age group, also earned a deserved  2-2 draw – despite playing the first half of their game against AFC with seven players.

The arrival of two late-comers at the break made all the difference, galvanising West End.

They fought back to take a point – courtesy of well-taken goals from Zain Duberry and Felix Jackson.

Proving that the game is as much about solid defending as it is goals, Queen’s Park Sharks also caught the eye as they battled out a goalless draw against Jolof Sports Club in the Under-12s ‘A’ Division.
