New Journal readers: this week, you’ve stepped up and made a difference.
In our last edition we reported how the Castlehaven food bank’s Christmas toys and pet food store had been stolen by heartless thieves who broke into the Camden Town-based community hub over night and cleared out supplies collected for the winter season.
Our big-hearted readers were having none of it – and generous donations have flowed in.
Manager Anna Kusner said: “We were devastated, and were at a loss at how we could replace it all.
“People been so unbelievably kind. We’ve had donations big and small this week, and it’s really gone a long way to replace what was taken.”
