KentishTown station

Kentish Town tube station is closed for a year for works on the escalators

• THE closure of Kentish Town tube station, with what appears to be little to no consultation with local businesses, is clearly hurting our a high street and making many people’s lives a misery.

Yes, the faulty escalators were a pain in the backside, but does it really take a whole year to replace them?

When you think that the Empire State Building, New York, was erected in just over a year, the mind boggles.

Where are the accessible updates from our local politicians – be they assembly, council or the MP – about the progress being made?

Sure they are all in the same party – Labour – so it might be a little awkward, but they need to be holding Transport for London and mayor Sadiq Khan to account.

Businesses and local people deserve to know when we will have a functional tube station back in action. We shouldn’t have to sit waiting in suspense.
