The Autumn 2018 season of Conway Hall’s affordable chamber music concerts gets under way this Sunday (September 8) with a recital given by baritone/cellist Simon Wallfisch and the Fitzwilliam Quartet.

Being performed are four Schubert songs in arrangements by Wallfisch, two pieces by Barber, and one of the greatest works of chamber music, Schubert’s mighty Quintet in C.

“The season features just over 20 events from our main concerts to pre-concert talks and recitals,” says music director Simon Callaghan. “Not only home-grown artists are performing but also ensembles from France, Italy and one all the way from New Zealand. Familiar faces making a welcome return include the Monte Piano Trio and baritone/cellist Simon Wallfisch with the Fitzwilliam Quartet.

“Ensembles performing for the first time include the Trio Chausson, Oculi Ensemble and Chamber Ensemble of London.”
