THERE are now just four teams left vying for the right to lift the prestigious Camden Sunday League Challenge Cup.
Division Two champions Coalition Crusaders will go head-to-head against Division One high-fliers Tufnell Park Athletic in their semi-final showdown this weekend at Hackney Marshes.
Top scorer Mustafa Baskal gave the Crusaders the lead against AFC Brasenose in the quarter-finals on Sunday when he powerfully headed home Leon Usher’s long throw-in.
Brasenose equalised, but Mark Sarfo restored the Crusaders lead on the hour mark when he skipped past four players and coolly beat the keeper.
Substitute Ashley Coleman scored within minutes of coming off the bench, before Nick Carroll wrapped up a 4-1 victory with virtually the last kick of the match.
Tufnell Park Athletic booked their place in the final four with a narrow 1-0 victory over Division Two side Highbury Town FC.
Division One champions-elect Cobden Athletic edged a step closer to completing a fantastic double with a resounding 5-1 win over Crouch End Rangers in their quarter-final. Luke Morgan opened the scoring from the spot before Lee O’Driscoll doubled the advantage.
Prolific marksman Patrick Jones bagged a brace, while Kaleb King (pictured with Jones on the back page) also scored.
Cobden now face a mouth-watering tie against Athletico Annies, who beat Lotus 2-0 thanks to goals from Danny Bunce and Kurt Freeney.
