PREMIER potters from Camden and Islington came together for a glitzy awards night on Saturday as the Chalk Farm Pool League reflected on an “incredible season”.
The celebrations were held at the Sir Robert Peel in Chalk Farm, a fitting tribute considering it was their pub team that collected the biggest honours.
Captained by John Brown, the Peel ‘A’ team set the standard this season as they were crowned Division One champions and won the Liam Tarrant Cup. Peel’s star players Danny James and Chris Heim were also named winner and runner-up respectively in the battle of the Division One Hotshots Awards after both winning 24 out of 25 of their singles frames.
Newcomers The Green Man were proudly flying the flag for Islington as they pocketed the double, winning the Division Two title and their Divisional Cup.
League chairman Shaun Pollard said, “The standard of play this season has been incredible. We’re now calling on new teams to sign up and add to the challenge.”
