Chalcots window spend is not necessary

‘I would like to know why Camden cannot simply fit these stays to the existing windows?’
• AS a former Belsize ward councillor I cannot understand why Camden Council is considering spending millions of pounds changing the design of all the windows on the Chalcots estate because a few have been ripped off their hinges in high winds.
This will be a huge inconvenience to all the residents. Just across the road there is a building with exactly the same design of windows. These have never been a problem because there is a central stay that prevents the windows from being blown off their hinges.
I have looked at the windows in the Chalcots estate and there seems to be space for the stay. I would like to know why Camden cannot simply fit these stays to the existing windows.
