• PAT Callaghan’s tattoos made me smile when I opened the New Journal because I have been putting off getting a tattoo of my own because I’m worried about how much it would hurt to get one and I’m in my 40s, (Pat’s tats: Deputy council leader explains love of body art, October 11).

This is one of our councillors who is brave to take on and fight and shout at the Tory cuts but also to take on going to get a tattoo. It’s great to see some of the local councillors showing a different side of life.

We have liked her for a long time as a councillor and now we like her more. Please can you tell her they look great. She should get more if she wants to.
