Carry on Mick Farrant…

• I WAS surprised to see the attack on Mick Farrant in your Letters pages, (Why the constant carping?, September 9).

Mick has been a tireless representative of the people of Camden for many years while the council has ignored consultations and refused to reply to concerns over their plans to gentrify parts of the borough.

It should be noted that Ealing council has agreed to remove LTNs, low traffic schemes, and both Lambeth and Tower Hamlets are reviewing them following massive opposition from the public.

Camden, meanwhile, has choked our streets and increased pollution with their “experimental” road closures. Despite massive opposition to these schemes, they refuse to reply to concerns raised by residents.

The many letters published in the CNJ are ignored. Millions of pounds of our money have been spent to make our borough more polluted and destroy access for the disabled.

The LTN which imprisons the residents of Grafton Road is also destroying the businesses in Queen’s Crescent.

When residents and business owners objected the council decided to paint the road in Queen’s Crescent with a squiggly line. The council are in such a hurry to waste our money they are throwing it away.

Carry on Mick Farrant, you are doing an excellent job representing the people who no longer have representation by councillors.
