FOOTBALLER Marc Weatherstone has set his sights on a new goal: passing his “love of all sports” on to a team of super coaches.

When the 26-year-old isn’t on the pitch captaining Ryman Premier League side Wingate and Finchley, he’s busy going into primary schools across south-east England to take charge of curriculum-based sports sessions.

Marc, who lives in Holloway, is now looking for new recruits to join him at the The Elms Sporting Schools.

“Although football has always been my first love, over the last eight years coaching in schools I’ve grown to love all sports,” said the tough-tackling defender, who use to play for Tufnell Park Boys in the Camden and Islington Youth League.

“My goal now is to put a team of coaches together to help fight the rising levels of child obesity and bring back children’s love of sport over computer games. By getting the fundamentals right at an early age I’d even like to think that, long-term, we could help improve sport at a national level too.

“After the World Cup who wouldn’t want to see a better England football team?”

Anyone with a Level 2 sport-specific qualification and a DBS, formerly a CRB, who thinks they’ve got what it takes to make the grade should email marc@theelms.co.uk for further information.
