• WHAT would you say if someone wouldn’t take no for an answer, if someone ignored your pleas or pushed their way into your home?

What if they felt entitled to keep persisting until you gave in, hoping you become apathetic and worn down? Would you call it bullying or harassment – or both?

Well, that’s exactly what’s going on here with Waldon’s Telecom / Cornerstone.

Within the space of two years, two consultations and two rejected planning proposals, and now a third application for 5G masts to be placed on the roof of Haddo House – here we are, yet again!

Imagine our surprise when we realised another application for our roof has been submitted.

It is sheer arrogance for them to believe that their money speaks louder than the voices of 60 occupants in our building and over 100 objections to both their last two applications.

Now, I can hear mixed opinions on this: “We need faster connection, you’re slowing down progress.”

I ask you, do we really need our fridge to communicate with our washing machine?

We won the last two applications because officers agreed that the design would impact the design of the architectural gem that is Haddo House, cause clutter to the skyline and impact on the views from Hampstead Heath.

I for one am tired of seeing masts all over London. They are unsightly, they downgrade the look of the area, and harm the aesthetics of the “host” building.

Any addition to our roof will be a constant reminder of the contempt these companies hold for residents.

Our concerns remain the same. Ultimately this is about respecting the residents. Bullying should never be tolerated, we’ve voiced our opinions loud and clear.

We do not consent. No means no! If you wish to support us, the planning application ref is: 2021/5946/P
