• THE Working Men’s College on Crowndale Road has been one of Camden’s major institutions since it moved there in 1906, from its original location in Great Ormond Street.

The WMC is one of the world’s oldest adult education institutes and occupies a special place in the country’s educational history as well as in the local community.

The WMC’s 100th anniversary – as long ago as 1954 – was celebrated with a history, by
JFC Harrison. We are now in the process of producing a much-needed follow-up volume to bring the history up to date.

We urgently want to contact any former staff and students who have memories they would wish to share with us.

We are particularly keen to hear from anyone engaged with the college before 2000. If you think you have a story to share, please get in touch.
