Join the campaign to save the 31 bus
Thursday, 16th June 2022
• THE 31 bus is a lifeline in Camden, especially for residents in South Hampstead, Swiss Cottage, and Kilburn.
Not only are buses crucial to reduce emissions and combat the climate crisis they are a lifeline for so many who simply do have access to a car, a bike, or another form of transport.
The 31 bus is embedded in our community. Our residents use it to get to work, for everyday errands like dropping the children off at school, and shopping. Crucially it connects so many of us to west London where many work.
The government’s outrageous cuts to Transport for London have caused this, and we will not stand for it.
The 31 is always packed and this is testament to our residents’ reliance on it. It’s the only route that connects Camden to west London’s White City area.
Route 31 has been running since 1911. And we want it to carry on serving our community.
TfL should not cut off our lifeline in South Hampstead. As councillors we are campaigning to save route 31.
We will be writing to, and seeking to meet, relevant people in City Hall and will be responding to the consultation.
We encourage residents to respond to the consultation by the deadline of July 12.
As one of our South Hampstead residents pointed out in his letter to the CNJ last week, there is no alternative to route 31.
