CAMDEN’S All Stars will be getting up to all sorts of sports in the summer when they take on teams from across the capital at the London School and Mini Games.

Scores of children will don their new Camden colours, which this year features a snazzy red star emblazoned across their chests, and do battle with rival teams from 32 other London boroughs.

They will compete in a wide range of sports including boccia, netball, athletics, tag rugby, quicksticks hockey and football.

Seven schools have already competed in their respective finals at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
Pupils from Swiss Cottage School in Avenue Road starred in the biggest success story so far when they scooped a silver medal in their Mini Games boccia tournament for the second year in a row.

In the girls’ football competition youngsters from Rosary School in Belsize Park just missed out on a bronze medal when they were cruelly beaten on penalties in the quarter-finals.

Despite conceding just one goal in seven games the girls had to settle for joint fifth place.

Camden also came within touching distance of winning a medal in the finals of the tag rugby event as the team from St Aloysius Junior School in Somers Town just missed out on a bronze.

The girls’ Year 8 sportshall athletics team from UCL Academy and the hockey players from Primrose Hill School also did well, improving on their final positions from last year.
