Camden Towners, you’re tops!

• I HAVE recently had an operation on my arthritic leg rendering me unable to walk without crutches. In order to travel to hospital appointments etc I have had to travel by bus to Camden from Neasden in Brent.

I was absolutely aghast at the difference in basic manners and behaviour from the citizens of Brent. I had to hobble to the priority seats and ask the occupants to move – my very swollen leg and scar were visible to all.

In sharp contrast has been the behaviour of the people of Camden where all ages of citizens have been most helpful, getting up in advance to offer a seat, helping me with bags to disembark … like the nice Indian lady taking my bags to get off in Chalk Farm from the 31 bus, or the older ladies who would give me a push to get me to my feet, and wave goodbye.

I have only experienced people being aware of another’s plight, and giving appropriate assistance. I thank you, Camden Towners!
