Camden Swiss Cottage swimmers’ winter joy in Cambridge

SWIMMERS from Camden Swiss Cottage were in top form at the weekend as they took part in the highly-competitive City of Cambridge Winter Short Course meet in the city’s Parkside Pool.

Isobel Moffatt showed great versatility and stamina as she won gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, the 100m and 200m butterfly and the 100m backstroke.

The 14-year-old also picked up a silver medal and a bronze medal in her respective 200m and 400m individual medley races.

Club-mate James Slade, 15, also impressed with gold medals in the 50m freestyle, the 100m breaststroke and the 100m individual medley. His medal count continued to climb with silver success in the 100m backstroke and the 200m individual medley.

Rising star Amelia Tong, 9, won triple gold with victories in the 50m freestyle, the 200m breaststroke and the 200m individual medley.

A sensational series of swims for the Camden Swiss Cottage team also saw Andrew Garcia, 13, win gold in the 200m butterfly and silvers in the 50m freestyle, the 100m butterfly and the 100m individual medley.

He rounded off a successful meet with a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle.  

There were also gold medals for Alexander Borisov in the 200m breaststroke, Brendan Comyn in the 100m butterfly and Indigo Mathews in the 400m freestyle.
