• WHY did Georgia Gould waste her time and our money to go to COP26 in Glasgow and give an address about the climate emergency?

Why should anyone take her seriously? Camden’s green policy is worthless.

The Camden Climate Action Plan says it aims to achieve net zero carbon by 2030 and that this “will require everyone living and working in Camden to play their part”.

So why is Camden itself not playing its own part when it is actually making matters worse?

Why is Camden boasting about upgrading a few buildings to make them sustainable (eg Swiss Cottage Library) when its entire estate of council housing is excluded from its calculation of CO2 emissions (thousands and thousands of homes, millions of tons of methane gas going up the chimneys)?

Why, to be more precise, is Camden proposing to install a new communal heating system on my particular estate that will continue to release hundreds of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere until at least 2040 – 10 years after the Climate Action Plan’s net zero deadline?

And why (from the nonsensical to the offensive) did Camden email everyone in the borough with advice on what to do in the heatwave?

Can they really not see that the heatwave is caused by the CO2 that goes up the chimneys of our estates and then sits right up there, above us, causing these heatwaves?

So will they please stop telling us they “care” and emailing us about keeping us safe? They don’t care. They don’t even seem to know the basic facts about the climate emergency.

And will Camden please shut up about net zero carbon. Their hopeless, disconnected efforts on the climate emergency are only leading to net zero credibility.
