THREE cheers for the girls from South Hampstead High School after they won a terrific treble at the Camden School Sports Federation Cross-Country Championships.

The race for glory was very much on as more than 260 speedy secondary school pupils flocked to Parliament Hill Fields last Wednesday to take part in the annual showpiece.

And it was the unstoppable girls from Maresfield Gardens who were the biggest winners as they captured top honours in the Years 7, 8 and 9 age categories.

The team from Camden School for Girls in Sandall Road were also celebrating after winning the Year 10 & 11 shield.

And the boys from William Ellis School in Highgate Road scooped a delightful double.

They won the Year 7 as well as the Year 10 & 11 competitions.

There was also success for UCL Academy in Swiss Cottage and Haverstock School in Chalk Farm, who won the boys’ Year 8 and Year 9 titles respectively.

Overall 267 youngsters from 10 schools took part in the competition, which was managed and delivered by Camden Sports and Physical Activity Service and supported by Highgate Harriers Athletics Club.
