THE new football pitches at Market Road were christened by spectacular goals, wild celebrations and tough tackling this week.

AC United Under-9s

And, of course, there were also plenty of silky skills on show as the new season in the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League finally got underway.

Regent’s Park Kings U-9s

The delay, which was due to refurbishment work being carried out at the famous venue in Islington, only served to make the youngsters hungrier than ever to play the beautiful game – which might go some way to explaining why the opening six fixtures on Tuesday produced a staggering 35 goals.

The Heath U-11s

The pick of the games came in the Under-11s ‘B’ division where Zac Evans and Joseph Perez both scored hat-tricks for The Heath, who took to the field sporting a stylish new red and white kit.

Daniel Rowsen and Ron Sosoli were also on target as The Heath ran out 8-1 winners over Fusion Development.

Crown & Manor U-9s

The goals continued to fly in with twins Jonnie and Joseph Gurie both finding the back of the net for Crown and Manor in their Under-9s match against AC United.

Camron Ismail and Jack Osborn were also both on target in a 4-1 victory, while Jon Jon Lawson scored what proved to be a consolation for AC United.

Youngsters from Regent’s Park Kings also had plenty to cheer as they started their campaign with a win. The Under-9s side were in fine form as they netted a 4-0 victory over Isledon Wolves Channons.
