Camden is the rubbish bin of Europe

Thursday, 9th September 2021

• THIS morning I walked five miles through Camden between 7am and 9am.

I saw piles of litter everywhere, rubbish bags torn open and lots of vermin, particularly pigeons and seagulls. But, in the entire walk, I saw just one street sweeper – and he was fiddling with his phone.

I can compare this with Paris or Athens where, at that time in the morning, an army of street sweepers would be cleaning the city, getting it ready for a new day.

It is very sad to consider that the Labour administration of Camden Council has decided our borough should be the rubbish bin of western Europe.
