Camden is letting down residents on housing

• I WRITE this letter while sitting on Parliament Hill admiring the fantastic scenery of this wonderful view.

After all the dramas of Murphy’s Yard development and objections to ruining our amazing scenery, blighting the area with tower blocks, Danny “Skyscraper” Beales now plans to knock down Kentish Town West estate to build high rise blocks that again will threaten this.

I read that only 12 extra homes will be made social housing, while 500 will be made private. How is this justified? The estate was only built in 1964 which is relatively young compared with other local buildings.

I am very concerned that Camden’s new policy seems to be bulldoze housing estates that are barely 25 years old (Gilbeys Yard) rather than keep up with day-to-day repairs, Camden Council are really letting down residents. While Cllr Beales portrays himself as some kind of hero many see him as a villain.
