Camden have no mandate to stop us getting about
Friday, 18th October 2019
• NO government, local or otherwise, has a right to stop people going about their daily business – and if Camden Council decides to ban cars for any length of time, for any purpose, that is exactly what it will do, (Bid to close all Camden roads to cars for three months every year, October 10).
What about people who have to get to work or hospital appointments, or visit family or friends, or take part in a leisure pursuit in a place that is not easily accessible by public transport?
Are we meant to arrange our diaries according to the whim of some despotic councillors? Camden should stop this idea dead, right now, or be prepared for slaughter at the next local elections.
