Camden Gardens isn’t how it is portrayed in the ‘Highline’ ad

• LIKE me your readers may have seen the very slick advert at the cinema recently for the future Camden Highline.

What a great project.

It heavily features very attractive imagery of the start point at Camden Gardens, what should be a showpiece for the borough considering its name and proximity to the world famous Camden Market.

But how far from the truth those images are.

These days Camden Gardens is a shanty town with dilapidated tents, supermarket trolleys, double beds, barbecues plus tonnes of other detritus; and it is absolutely filthy with general rubbish including food and human waste.

It is an appalling example of the apparent ineptitude of the borough, a complete waste of our council tax pounds which go to “maintaining” the park and a lawless no-go zone to 99.99 per cent of Camden’s population.

I have persistently and politely engaged with the council over the issue and a similar one in College Gardens, but unfortunately the buck gets passed and absolutely nothing is done about it.
