Councillors and staff from Camden get ready for the Pride march
CAMDEN Council has today (Saturday) sent a message of unity, equality and solidarity by taking part in the Pride march through central London.
Town Hall leader Georgia Gould and councillors from across the political divide have joined senior officers, including chief executive Jenny Rowlands, under the banner ‘we make Camden proud’.
Cllr Gould said: “‘Camden staff and councillors are marching today to celebrate Camden’s proud history of activism and protest for LGBT+ rights. We can never be complacent about these hard fought rights and we want to say loudly and proudly that in Camden we celebrate love and our LGBTQ+ communities.”

It comes just weeks after two women were beaten up on a bus in West Hampstead in a homophobic attack which shocked the nation.

The decision to take part in Pride march as an organisation for the first time had been made before this harrowing incident but Cllr Gould and others said it had only reinforced the intention to make a positive stand at the annual Pride event.
On Monday night, councillors at an all-member meeting will discuss LGBT+ rights and how to break down the challenges the community face.
