Under-11s A Division
PLAYERS from AFC Islington and Camden were jumping for joy on Saturday after being crowned champions at Regent’s Park.
The triumphant team beat The Heath 3-1 to capture the title in style, finishing seven points clear of their rivals. It was a magnificent season for the newly-formed side, who ended the campaign with nine wins and a draw from their 10 league games – scoring a whopping 31 goals along the way.
Under-11s B Division
AFTER missing out on the title by just one point, Kentish Town players were told there’s “plenty to be proud of” this season.
Town beat The Heath
2-1 on Saturday thanks to a goal from Reece Morley and an own-goal that came off of a Nelson Smith cross. Goalkeeper Harry Ward also played his part as he saved a last-minute penalty.
But with title rivals The Heath ‘B’ team and Sport London Benfica also both winning, Town ended the campaign in third place.
Club spokesman Thomas Looney said, “It’s been a fantastic year for the boys, especially as they’ve only been playing together for a year.
“The side is made up of both Under-11s and Under-10s players, and is a real credit to their coach James Banwell.”
