Calling those who remember Jellicoe the Musical

Thursday, 21st October 2021

• DID you take part in Jellicoe the Musical at the Shaw Theatre in October 2003?

If you did, we’d love to hear from you.

It is 100 years since the Reverend Basil Jellicoe came to the Mission Somers Town and began a process of slum clearance and social housing reform.

Sadly the director and writer of the musical, Rob Inglis, died in May this year.

As a memorial to Rob and his role in Somers Town we would like to gather together all the those who played a part in the production, and hold an event on December 1 2021 with performance and a showing of the film.

Not only would this be a lovely local tribute to Rob but it would be an important anniversary for Jellicoe, a social reformer who arguably changed the face of Somers Town.

We are looking for people who took part in the production, as either actors or musicians, or even in the audience. We would be grateful if you can get in touch by this email: somerstownhistory@gmail.com.
