Daniel Bingham: ‘The club’s open to everyone’
Published: 1 November, 2012
A NEW club has been launched to give athletes from across Camden and Islington the chance to put their skills to the ultimate test.
Triathlete Daniel Bingham believes he is filling a much-needed void in the market by setting up Hampstead Triathlon Club and is happy to share the experiences he has gained racing all around the world over the past 20 years.
The 37-year-old, who works at the Paul Dillon Swimming Club based at University College School in Hampstead, is confident that his invitation will be well received.
“I’m always swimming, cycling and running around the area and I always see loads of people doing the same, which is great,” he said.
“Over the summer I realised there is no organised club in the area bringing triathletes and potential triathletes together, so I formed Hampstead Triathlon Club.
“I got the club affiliated to the British Triathlon Federation, who have been a great help and support. I have secured swimming sessions at the Kentish Town Sports Centre, and I’m planning cycling and running sessions early next year, “The club is open to everyone. It doesn’t matter what borough or town they come from and all abilities are very welcome.”

Harriers take to the road
TWO Highgate Harriers joined thousands of top athletes to take on a testing 10-mile race around Southsea and Portsmouth on Sunday.
Shaun Dixon and Richard Scott put their legs and lungs to the test as they took part in the Great South Run. Dixon secured a personal best time of 50.06 minutes to take 18th place overall, finishing exactly two minutes ahead of Scott, who crossed the finishing line in 26th place.
