SO, how does a renowned heavyweight boxer get his career back on track – he joins St Pancras Amateur Boxing Club, of course.
The all-too-often controversial Derek “Del Boy” Chisora can now count Saints’ coach CJ Hussein as part of his new corner team, along with main trainer Gary Innes and Michael Collins.
The work the former world title challenger is undertaking at the St Pancras gym in Talacre Road, Kentish Town, is certainly paying off.
Chisora won his comeback fight in just 29 seconds – when he knocked out Georgia’s Beqa Lobjanidze at the Wembley Arena recently.
“I’m more than happy to just be in the background, organising sparring partners and helping Chisora with his training whenever I can,” said CJ.
“Having a fighter like him at the gym – someone who has fought for numerous British and world titles – is a great boost for all of our young boxers.”
