CHALK Scratchings battled back to beat the Metropolitan Rockets and hold on to top spot in Division Three of the Camden Sunday League at the weekend.

It looked like it wasn’t going to be their day early on when they conceded a goal in the opening minute of the match and then succumbed to a few forced substitutions due to injuries. But showing true championship-winning spirit, Scratchings bulldozed their way back into the game and went on to net a 5-2 victory thanks to Siva Van Vliet’s brace and goals from Chris Clarke, Simon Higgins and Dan Gearing (pictured from left).
